Nextbase 512G wins Auto Express Best Buy award!

2nd March 2016

What a couple of months we’re having here at Nextbase HQ! Having recently been awarded the Which? Best Buy award in December 2015, our 512G dash cam has now followed this success by winning the Auto Express Best Buy 2016 award. This means the 512G becomes the first ever dash cam to receive both accolades at the same time!

Sales of dash cams have grown exponentially in the past 12 months, with Nextbase now accounting for 66 per cent of all UK sales. The latest GfK data* shows that sales of dash cams have exploded, with sales volumes quadrupling in the past year, now making dash cams the biggest growing area of note in Consumer Electronics. The 512G was awarded the Auto Express Best Buy 2016, beating seven other dash cams to the top spot. They noted that it had “an anti-glare polarising filter, uses a top class sensor and has the best quality footage, with time, date and speed stamps.” Auto Express concluded “Only the Nextbase 512G delivers a polarising filter for the lens, so its crystal clear footage was unmatched on test.”

Richard Browning, director at Nextbase, commented:

“Interest in dash cams has grown significantly as motorists and insurers get to understand the benefits they can bring in the fight against fraud, and in protecting innocent if involved in an incident. “We’re delighted that the 512G has won the Auto Express Best Buy 2016 award. It’s further recognition of the dedication put in by everyone at Nextbase to make our products the undisputed best on the market. We build our dash cams specifically for the UK market, focusing on quality video recording and ease of use, and this is something we will continue to do as we bring a range of new products to market.”

Insurers are recognising the benefits, with 29 of the UK’s major insurers now accepting** in car camera dash cam footage as part of an insurance claim. Furthermore, there are immediate financial benefits for motorists using a dash cam. Swiftcover offers a 12.5% discount*** on motor premiums for motorists using a Nextbase dash cam.

In the coming few months, we plan to launch two new dash cam products, the 312G and 212G which focus on connectivity and enable users to share their footage with friends, family and even the authorities! They will also have the word’s first powered magnetic click and go mount.
