Nextbase 512G retains Which? Best Buy Award in 2016

4th July 2016

Fresh off the back of winning the Auto Express Best Buy Award in March the Nextbase 512G dash cam has come up trumps yet again! Today it was announced that the 512G has retained its coveted Which? Best Buy status within the Dash Cam category.

The 512G was awarded the Which? Best Buy Award in the Dash Cam category, beating 30 other Dash Cams to the top spot. The award ensures that we remain the only dash cam manufacturer to hold a ‘Best Buy’ status to date. Which? noted “The footage from the Nextbase iN-Car Cam 512G is excellent. The anti-glare polarising filter minimises screen reflections well, and the footage is smooth even when you’re driving on uneven roads.” Which? concluded that the 512G is “an excellent dash cam that will provide you with great footage and useful features.”

The latest data from independent retail analysts GfK shows that sales of dash cams – small windscreen mounted cameras that records a driver’s view – rocketed in 2015, with sales increasing by 395%*. Dash Cams became the fastest growing area in consumer electronics – outstripping smart fitness bands, tablets and every other consumer electronic product.

With a heavy focus on image quality, we’ve ensured we’re a step ahead of the rest of the market by using the latest sensors, highest quality glass lenses and software developed in the UK. The Nextbase range of dash cams now account for more than 68 per cent of the market by volume and 73 per cent by value, according to more recent GfK stats (March 2016). This is over six times higher than the second largest dash cam manufacturer in the UK.

Richard Browning, director at Nextbase, commented:

“Sales across the Nextbase range have risen sharply as motorists and insurers now understand the benefits our Dash Cams can bring. Not only can they help you in an road incident situation, they also assist in fighting fraud and can save you money on your insurance.” “We’re thrilled that the 512G has retained its Which? Best Buy status, especially considering the numerous other products that have recently entered the market. Unlike other manufacturers, we build our dash cams specifically for the UK market, focusing on quality video recording and ease of use. Awards like these are testament to the dedication and hard work of the whole Nextbase team.”
